THE WATERBOYS
Led by mercurial Scottish singer and guitarist Mike Scott, the Waterboys is one of the most fascinating and unpredictable bands the British Isles have produced. A mighty musical train powered by the twin fuels of rock'n'roll and celtic soul, the Waterboys have consistently challenged critics and audience alike, busting musical boundaries and creating a motherlode of cracking music along the way. Their eleven genre-defying albums include This Is The Sea, A Rock In The Weary Land, and the million-selling (and recently reissued) Fisherman's Blues. This year's full-blown electric incarnation of the band, driven by Scott's classic voice and Irishman Steve Wickham's spine-tingling fiddle, has already been receiving rave reviews across Europe. A new album: BOOK OF LIGHTNING, described by Scott as 'one of the best Waterboys records ever - a quiverful of my sharpest songs, with some unexpected musical twists', will be released by Universal along with the tour.
